gawa

Jobs

Three roles. The yard runs on them.

Gawa is opening at Ngecha, Kiambu. These are the people who make "materials arrive when promised" true often enough to be worth saying.

Sales manager

Hiring now

Own the accounts. Prospect contractors and subcontractors across Kiambu and Nairobi, turn lists into quotes the same day, and keep the buyers who reorder.

What you do

  • Prospect and qualify sites — the first accounts are found, not waited for
  • Quote from the central price list, never off your own head
  • Chase collections weekly and keep receivables inside the limit
  • Keep the account record straight — quotes sent, won, lost, and why

What you bring

  • You have sold to contractors or in building materials before
  • You are comfortable on site and on WhatsApp, in English and Swahili
  • You will not discount past your limit to close a deal
  • Driving licence is an advantage

Inventory manager

Hiring now

Own the yard. Receiving, put-away, picking, cycle counts and dispatch discipline, so that what the system says is on the rack is on the rack.

What you do

  • Check every supplier delivery against the order, by count and weight, with photos
  • Run weekly cycle counts and explain every variance
  • Hold reorder points so fast lines do not run out
  • Approve no dispatch without paperwork — that rule does not bend

What you bring

  • Warehouse, stores or stock control experience
  • You count carefully and you write it down
  • Comfortable with a phone or tablet for stock records
  • Forklift experience is an advantage

Truck driver

Hiring at launch

Own the delivery. Run the route loops across Kiambu and Nairobi, load correctly, and bring back a signed delivery note every time.

What you do

  • Load against the load sheet and sign for what is on the truck
  • Deliver to site, get the delivery note signed, photograph the drop
  • Bring back the paperwork and any balance collected, same day
  • Keep the vehicle checked, clean and roadworthy

What you bring

  • Valid Kenyan driving licence for the class, and a clean record
  • You know Kiambu and Nairobi roads and can find a site from a pin
  • Careful with a load — steel and mabati damage easily
  • You return every document you leave with

How we hire

  • We hire in the order the yard needs: manager first, sales second, warehouse and driver at launch.
  • Every role here works to a written scorecard. You will know what you are measured on before you start.
  • Pay is discussed in the conversation. We would rather agree it with you than post a band we have not set.

How to apply

Send your name, the role, and where you have done this before. A CV is welcome but not required — tell us what you ran and what it was measured on.

Our WhatsApp number and email are not published yet, so there is no way to apply from this page today. Both go up before the roles open.
